Qualifications:
- A valid license to practice as a registered dental hygienist in British Columbia.
- Good familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all types of patients, addressing their concerns and questions.
- Commitment to maintaining sterilization of instruments and adhering to infection control protocols.

Responsibilities Include:
As a registered dental hygienist, your role will focus on providing high-quality care and patient education. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Patient screening procedures, including assessment of oral health conditions and oral cancer screening, review of health history, and monitoring vital signs like blood pressure and pulse
- Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Performing thorough dental cleanings for patients of all ages, including removing calculus, tartar and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth
- Teaching patients relevant oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counselling)
- Documenting patient care and treatment plans accurately in compliance with professional standards.
- Applying preventive treatments, such as fluoride applications and sealants.
- Collaborating with the dental team to ensure exceptional patient care.
